Mayville State Overnight Team Camp
Mayville State Women's Basketball offers a unique experience with its Overnight Team Camp Concept. The Overnight Team Camp combines both games for the teams and also offers skill development during the camp. Each high school team that attends Overnight Team Camp will have a chance to develop their team skills as well as their individual skills. Each team that participates in the camp will play between 5-6 games in the two days. Each player on team will also have a chance to work on their individual skills, during the individual skill sessions. Some of the skills that are worked on are: shooting, ball handling, passing & catching. There is also position work where players will have a chance to separate and work on position specific drills. Post players in one gym and perimeter players in another gym. We have also added Individual Skills Competitions in Free Throw Shooting, Three Point Shooting as well as a Mikan Contest. One player from each team shoots in front of the entire camp. We also added a TEAM Talk. The TEAM talk is a time when we discuss how teams can come and get better both as individual players and as a team. Each camp is capped at 12 teams per camp session, to make ensure that each camper and team within the camp receive quality personal instruction and a great camp experience

Each team that comes to camp also gets to stay in our newly remodeled Agassiz Hall. Agassiz Hall is suite style dorms. Each suite has two bedrooms, one living room and a bathroom as well. They are first class accommodations. It is a great chance for teams to come together for a couple of days and become a better team through camp experiences and team bonding. We have had great success with this camp, and plan to offer more sessions in the future. Currently we have to limit each session of Overnight Team Camp to 12 teams to ensure that all teams can stay in the suite style dorms.
